Institut français du Nigeria is hosting « METIERS DU MONDE » as part of international tour exposure. Every year, la Foundation Alliance française de Paris organizes a photographic competition in all Alliance Française network worldwide in partnership with the magazine Courrier International. The objective of this contest is to highlight the richness and plurality of Alliance française network abroad (about 900 in number), and to give to amateur photographers an opportunity to benefit from exposure: two exhibitions in Paris and one international tour. La Fondation Alliance française has exhibited in June at the Cité internationale des Arts, the 44 photographs of the winners of the photo contest « METIERS DU MONDE » (Professions or occupations in the world), and also in the gallery of La Fondation Alliance française, in July. This third edition (2013), entitled « METIERS DU MONDE » was to honor occupations or to celebrate professions. The amateur photographers were asked to show men and women in the extraordinary diversity of professions worldwide in beauty as in the hardness of their daily business or activities. The 1st prize winner, Xiaogang Ning, selected by Alliance française in Shanghai (China), had a one-week stay in Paris and a solo exhibition at the Arcturus Gallery, rue de Seine in Paris.
