This workshop helps cybersecurity students understand how securing small local farms protects food supplies, local economies, and community resilience.
Learning Outcomes
- Identify key cyber risks
Students will recognize common vulnerabilities in farm technologies and local food supply chains, and explain how attacks can disrupt communities.
- Connect security to local economies
Students will describe how protecting farm data and systems supports local jobs, keeps money in the community, and reduces dependence on distant food sources.
- Design farmer-friendly protections
Students will outline practical, farmer-focused cybersecurity measures for on-farm technology, online marketplaces, and communications that strengthen local food systems.
