Kenya National Archives
Nairobi, Kenya
Only 2 percent of our annual contest participants are from the African continent, much less from the East Africa region, and for an organisation aiming to represent the worldwide visual journalism community, we need to actively improve this.
Therefore, World Press Photo will organise a range of activities in Nairobi this November. One of them is the East Africa Masterclass in the last week of November. The masterclass will be modeled after our annual Joop Swart Masterclass (a global masterclass hosted in Amsterdam), bringing together some of the most respected professionals in visual journalism with 12 of the most promising visual journalists under 32.
We also use this opportunity to show the annual World Press Photo exhibition in the open air! To reach as many Kenyans as possible, the exhibition will be set up outside the Kenyan Archives, open 24/7 and free to visit.
Visiting hours
This exhibition is in an outdoor space, so it is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
