No matter what it's called in your language, blood is the most precious gift you can give. Friday, June 14, 2024, is the 20th anniversary of World Blood Donor Day and we will be joining the global commemoration of that day with our meetup on Saturday, June 15.
Safe blood saves lives. It is needed by women with complications during pregnancy and childbirth; children with severe anaemia; accident victims; and surgical and cancer patients. Regular blood donation by a sufficient number of healthy people is needed to ensure that blood will always be available whenever and wherever it is needed.
In support of, and in collaboration with, Haima Health Initiative and the Lagos State Blood Transfusion Committee, we are inviting Local Guides and our friends and family to donate blood to help bridge the blood supply gap in Lagos.
There are two convenient locations where you can choose to give blood, one on the Island and the other on the Mainland:
We hope you will join us to support this worthy cause. Your selfless donation will have a profound impact on the lives and well-being of hundreds of people, as well as their families and communities across Lagos.
