The Masquerade Festival also known as kakamotobi, is a masquerade festival held on Christmas through to the first day of January every year by the people of Winneba in the Central Region of Ghana. It’s a colourful festival that features brass band music.
The festival is celebrated on every January 1st and features five groups of masquerades competing for supremacy. The festival showcases beautiful crafted masks and costume and attracts around 9000 to 15000 people every year.
