"Purple day" is an annual event, a day dedicated to the sensitization of the reality of Epilepsy. it's a day people of goodwill try to walk/work. putting their legs in the shoes of the persons with Epilepsy, thereby striving towards solving the needs of Epilepsy survivors who can not help themselves. It was founded in 2008 by 9 year old Cassidy Megan of Nova Scotia. Motivated by own struggles with Epilepsy, Cassidy Started the Purple Day for Epilepsy in an effort to educate others about the disorder, and remind those living with seizures that they are not alone. she named the day after the internationally-recorgnized color for Epilepsy, lavender. Each year on March 26, people from around the world wear purple in supple of Epilepsy. whereas in "sub- saharan Africa, the supernatural views still dominate the thinking about epilepsy (Warapa). There are many wrong beliefs about epilepsy and nagative attitudes towards epileptic patients with devastating consequences". (Professor M.A Danesi, 2015). The need for awareness is very important.
