On Saturday 14th of February 2015 Uvumbuzi will be visiting the Nairobi Animal Orphanage.

Only 7 km South of Nairobi, the Nairobi Orphanage is the oldest animal orphanage in Kenya, started way back in 1964 as a safe haven for orphaned, injured and abandoned wild animals from all over Kenya. The animals are offered specialized treatment and care and then released back to the wild.

The establishment allows you the opportunity to get up-close with the more friendly animals and you can even touch and and play with them. It also offers conservation education to visitors, the animal cages are marked with educative information that allows you to learn more about them. It is home to more than 20 different animals and bird species.

Animals you can see: Lions, Cheetahs, Leopards, Antelopes, Crested Cranes, Hyena, Jackal, Ostrich, Parrots, Guinea fowls, Monkeys, Servals, Sokoke cats, Warthogs, Baboons, Buffalos among others.

The visit takes about two hours after which you can head to nearby restaurants to relax with family and friends.
