Vanuatu’s Independence Day Celebrations on Sunday 30th July 2023 – marking the 43rd Anniversary of the ceding by the United Kingdom and France of administrative control of the then “New Hebrides”, and the birth of the modern Republic of Vanuatu. Vanuatu has come a long way after achieving political independence from the joint British and French rule. It has faced challenges, but has also improved in its path as an independent nation. July 30, that one day is set aside every year to reflect on the moment in history that brought the nation together.
