Urban Gardening in Accra?! Coming Soon! Get Involved Now!
The Goethe-Institut Ghana will be hosting a four day ecological urban initiative project: URBAN GARDEN IN ACCRA?!. The programme spans from 16th of August to 19th of August 2016. Special project resource person will be Marco Clausen, the co-founder of the Berlin-based initiative: Prinzessinnengarten.
The Urban Garden is a specific and activist form of action in space, which involves the growing of plants and vegetables. Old materials are used as containers to grow the crops and later the produce is shared within the bigger community.
PROGRAMME LINE-UP:
Day one
TUE 16.08.2016
Time 7:00 PM
URBAN GARDENING IN BERLIN: Our urban gardening project will kick off with Marco Clausen, a co-founder of the Berlin-based initiative “Prinzessinnengärten”: He will introduce the German movement and the formation of the Prinzessinnengärten.
Day two
WED, 17.08.2016
Time 9:00 AM
PRACTICAL PHASE: this will involve the creation of a model urban garden at the Goethe-Institut Ghana.
Day Three
THU, 18.08.2016
Time 9:00 AM
PRACTICAL PHASE: this will involve the creation of a model urban garden at the Goethe-Institut Ghana.
Day Four
FRI, 19.08.2016
Time 9:00 AM
EXCURSION CITY TOUR: The focus will be visiting existing local urban garden initiatives in Accra.
SYMPOSIUM
Time 6:00 PM
Focus will be the current situation in relation to urban Gardening initiatives in Accra and the future co-operation.
