Outbox hereby invites you to attend an info session and participate in a bootcamp for an innovations acceleration program called “Up Accelerate” scheduled for Tuesday 15th November 2016 at Islamic University in Uganda from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The Up Accelerate program is a one year initiative supported by UNFPA, which seeks to explore new ways of tackling pressing sexual reproductive health challenges while promoting social entrepreneurship. By tapping into networks of young entrepreneurs and providing them with seed funding, mentorship and technical support, Up Accelerate aims at developing scalable and sustainable solutions. Through this acceleration program young people will be given seed funding of up-to $10,000 per team and matched with top industry experts who can help them develop core skills as well as evaluate and commercialise their ideas for innovative ventures. The sessions will have the following structure: Speaker session to sensitize on the innovation accelerator and response to questions. A mini-crash course on human centered design principles to enable participants identify opportunities for design, generate concepts and that solutions developed are adopted by the target users. This will introduce participants to techniques like brainstorming, interviewing and prototyping. A rapid pitch exercise where the Outbox team provides feedback on the ideas shared for refinement. Outbox is an implementing partner of the I-Accelerator program. Founded in 2012, Outbox supports new and upcoming African Entrepreneurs with workspace, mentorship and training programs.
