The story of a five year old albino girl, Elikia, who goes to a casual elementary school in Rwanda. Due to her skin color her classmates make her realize that her being ‘different’ is more a problem than a special trait. While the neighborhood treats her as a stereotype, her mother encourages her. Together, they fight back and raise their voice to find a place for themselves.

While researching for a book about the Nomadic life of the Maasai in Arusha writer Alex is mistaken as a cattle thief. The herdsmen beat him up and arrest Alex on cattle theft charges. In the Boma where he is detained he encounters Nangajiang, a beautiful Maasai girl, who is the only Swahili speaker. Through her help Alex proves his innocence. When a friend comes to pick up Alex in the Boma Nangajiang runs off with them to Dar es Salaam to pursue her dream of studying medicine. Will she succeed through the help from new friends to accomplish her dreams and move back to her village?
