"The SHARKS" is an all-round academic quiz competition brought to you by Africa Schools Online with support from Webster University-Ghana, Family Health Medical School and endorsed by the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences.

The reality TV high school quiz competition has been developed to promote students' appreciation of knowledge on diverse core subjects: Literacy (English), Numeracy (Mathematics), Scientific and ICT literacy as well as Social and Civic literacy. Competencies such as Critical thinking, Creativity, Communication and Collaboration will be tested and developed throughout the show.

The program will help build character qualities such as Curiosity, Initiative, Persistence, Adaptability, Leadership, Social and Cultural Awareness among the students. It is open to high school students (14 – 19 yrs.) at all levels in all programs and aims to promote teamwork among students and a healthy competitive challenge amongst participating schools.

In seeking to spur students' interest in acquiring broad-base useful knowledge, the SHARKS academic quiz show provides an exciting, creative and competitive avenue for intellectual display in a televised program. It provides an opportunity for students to show their scholarly abilities and develop academic portfolios for acceptance into top universities across the world.
