This year marks the 500th anniversary of that momentous event in the history of the world when Martin Luther, an Augustinian monk and Professor of biblical literature, nailed his ninety-five theses to the door of the Castle Church at Wittenberg in Germany on 31st october, 1517. This was the beginning of the great movement known as the Reformation, when the church was delivered from the great spiritual darkness which had prevailed throughout the middle ages. Therefore, the Reformation was without doubt the greatest event in history since the birth of the Christian Church. By it Almighty God brought about extraordinary revival that spreads through Europe, unparalleled doctrinal rediscovery, and a fresh calling out of His people from both false religion and this world’s fallen culture. The Reformation set vast numbers on the road to Heaven and holiness, forged the character of believing churches for centuries to come, and provide a faith-inspring example of God’s powerful method of working through the proclamation of the word and prayer alone. The Reformers formulated the Five-Pillars of the Reformation Truth-that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in christ alone, on scripture alone and for the glory of God alone . The Reformers themselves were men of extraordinary character, gifted for their work, learned in theology and know their God- (Dan.11:32). They were called of God fromed different countries of Europe such as Martin Lurther of Germany, William Tyndale of England , Ulrich Zwingli of Switzerland, Menno Simons of Neverlands, John Calvin of France, John Knox of Scotland,etc. The Church today still needs reformation. Who will be the next set of men to be used of God in the same remarkable fashion as He did those of 500 years ago? In this 15th Annual Nigeria Reformed Bible and Theological Conference for Pastors , Church Leaders, Missionaries, Bible College Students, and members of churches, we want to remind the church such teachings that were discovered 500 years ago. The scripture, justification by faith alone, the priesthood of all believers, the concept of the Church, the two ordinances(the Lord’s Supper and Baptism), true faith and its effects – living the Christian life, the glorious Reformation legacy, etc. Come and your eyes shall be opened to the ongoing Reformation in the church today. There is power in the gospel and the just shall live by faith alone! Speakers are selected from Nigeria and the United Kingdoms. We are here inviting all pastors, church leaders, students of Bible colleges and all christians in Port Harcourt, the Niger Delta regions and the nation Nigeria to come and received these life inspiring teachings that was discovered at the Reformation as a dire need of the Churches today.
