A new dance work conceived by Elisabeth Efua Sutherland and set outdoors in a garden space.
A wild mix of traditional and contemporary styles, The Mud People follows the journey of a group of villagers who are literally stuck in the mud, and who are challenged to transform their surroundings with what they have in hand. The piece interrogates our attitudes as a people towards nature and towards each other, and asks how we can continue to lift our heads in the middle of the mire.
