On Friday, Daystar University's Department of Language and Performing Arts will host a discussion on how the teaching of Music in Kenyan Universities should interact with the global scene. The discussion will seek to answer questions such as: 1. What are the global elements of music that every music student should engage in? 2. What are the local elements which are unique to Kenyan music, but that also attract the global market? 3. How we can structure our curriculum to fit local and global demands? By the end of the session, we hope that discussants will come up with resolutions with the potential to influence policy, curriculum and the industry.
