SCEF is happy to announce and invite our loyal followers of the unveiling of our unique project: The Learning Hub. 

We are by this invitation also asking for donations in kind like furniture and fittings, generators/ solar panels, books, drinks, food, etc to help set up the facility and hold a successful opening ceremony. 

This opening ceremony will be preceded with an awareness walk on Saturday 19th July, 2014 through the principal streets of Accra. The main Opening Ceremony will be held on Wednesday 23rd July, 2014 from 9:00 - 12:00 GMT. 

Theme: Education For Development: The Sustainable Path For Ghana. 
Venue: 62/3 Ward D Crewe Avenue, James Town Palladium, close to New Order School. 
Time: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. 

SCEF together with our main sponsors, the UK-based registered charity the Street Academy Annexe Project (SAAP), we have constructed and renovated a building site in James Town that will become the Learning Hub. The Learning Hub shall be a haven and a center of empowerment for children in James Town and Accra Central. The center shall serve children, teachers, schools and the entire community, where they can come to read books in a library, acquire computer skills, get one-on-one tuition and take part in special after-school clubs to enhance their education. The Learning Hub shall also act as a meeting place for people from the local community, where they can discuss the issues they face and seek out help and support. 

This Learning Hub will include classrooms, areas for workshops (such as IT training), a quiet study space, a library, new toilet facilities and office space.
