Back by popular demand, we are happy to present 'The Blinkards' for the first time at the newly reopened Nubuke Foundation!
This laugh out loud comedy hits home from the opening scene, following the larger than life Mrs Brofusem and her circle of acquaintances as they create a sequence of madhouse mishaps! Witty, wonderful and weirdly accurate, The Blinkards satirises the acceptance by a colonised society of the attitudes of the coloniser.
The Blinkards, or the Anglo-Fanti is a satire written by Kobina Sekyi in 1915. It is one of the earliest surviving plays in the Gold Coast and is performed in both English and Fanti.
