The Chigwell School Hockey Department are proud to announce that we are hosting a Black Tie Dinner Dance on Friday 30th January 2015. The purpose of this event is a fundraiser to help our Boys and Girls 1st XI Hockey Squads who are travelling to South Africa in July 2015. During the tour pupils will represent the school at the biggest international youth hockey tournament in the southern hemisphere. In addition to participating in the Cape Town International Hockey Festival, one of the aims of the tour will be to develop the pupils’ understanding and awareness of third world cultures and environments. This will include a visit to Fisantekraal Township, established in 1995, in close association with our travel company Travel Places. We also intend to both visit and support the local primary and secondary schools with donations of sports and school equipment. We aim to put on an extremely enjoyable event where parents and friends of Chigwell school can socialise over a 3 course South African themed meal, followed by a sports themed auction with many high profile items to bid for, ending the night with a disco.
