The international press calls him "The Boogie Woogie ambassador from Switzerland". "Silvan plays as if he were from St. Louis - he could be my blues brother" said Rock `n Roll legend Chuck Berry enthusiastically about the pianist.
Silvan Zingg`s Boogie Woogie piano style is characterized by a great portion of swing and blues performed with passion, lightness and brilliant quality.
Influenced by vintage recordings, he started to play the piano in early childhood. Already at the age of 18 he was invited to perform at the `Masters of Boogie Woogie Night in Charleston, South Carolina, launching Silvan into the spotlight.
Over time Silvan established himself as a leading authority on the art of playing Boogie Woogie and conducts regular workshops and lectures on the subject at various music schools and universities.
Not only is Silvan Zingg an outstanding stage performer but he has also encouraged the return of `retro-dancing` and often invites couples to join him on stage to showcase the style of `swing dancing` or `Lindy Hop` the precursor to "Rock `n Roll"
Visiting South Africa for the first time, Silvan will be accompanied by drummer Anthony Yoko and bassist Marc Duby for a limited number of appearances in and around Johannesburg, Pretoria and Sasolburg in what promises to be a finger-snapping, foot-stomping series of concerts not to be missed.
