Selfie 25: Multimedia Exhibition by Simphiwe Xulu
Thu, Nov 5. 4:00PM - 7:00PM
Constitution Hill (South Africa) 11 Kotze Street, Braamfontein Johannesburg, South Africa
On the 5th of November 2015 Constitution Hill will be launching Selfie 25 – a multi-media exhibition of digital prints and video work by young upcoming artist, Simphiwe Xulu. Xulu qualified in Fine Arts & Media (UKZN, 2011) & subsequently worked in the advertising industry for 2 years. Since early 2013, he has worked full-time as a freelance writer and artist, and has been a regular content creator for leading content sites such as 10and5.com as well as htxt.co.za
In May 2015 he was awarded partial funding & partnership by the Nedbank Arts Trust (in partnership with The Arts and Cuture Trust of South Africa) to execute an ambitious digital exhibition art project titled Selfie 25. This project is designed to pay homage to the positive contributions of 25 future icons of South Africa’s digital age, while innovatively commenting on the modern phenomenon of the “selfie” culture. The project was chosen as one of 17 projects to receive partnership from a pool of over 540 submissions and has already been exhibited twice in Durban.
Constitution Hill invites you to join us as we celebrate this promising and talented young South African whose work contributed valuably to the creative industry.
Exhibition closes on November 30th.
