Hopeful Way Foundation in collaboration with Recovery Ghana Consortium (RCG) is organizing a maiden Ghana Recovery Walk on the 26th September, 2015 against ALCOHOL, DRUGS AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND ITS EFFECTS ON THE COUNTRY.
AIMS FOR THE RECOVERY WALK ARE TO CREATE AWARENESS ON THE FOLLOWING:
That all persons with substance use disorders receive protection and treatment which is accessible, available and affordable. Support public education programs designed to eliminate stigmatization Protect the vulnerable in society from exposure to drugs Make Ghanaians understand that, substance use disorder is a disease Help reduce incidence of substance use in Ghana Have accessible, available and affordable treatment and rehabilitation for substance users Create awareness and educate families on availability of help for victims of substance abuse Support research into the cause, systems and treatments of substance use disorders Recovery Ghana Consortium, Ghana’s voice on Substance Use Disorders (Alcoholism and Drug Addiction). Whose main aim is help reduce the demand for drugs and help people achieve long- term recovery from abusing substances.
SUBSTANCE ABUSE IS EVERYBODY’S BUSINESS. PLEASE HELP US RAISE AWARENESS THROUGH GHANA’S MAIDEN RECOVERY WALK.
ADDICTION AFFECTS ONE OUT OF FIVE FAMILIES IN GHANA DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY.

ROUTE: Starting from Liberty Avenue Cluster of Schools, through Central Accra to the Parking Lots of the Accra Arts Center
EXPECTATION: More than 600 participants are expected to join the Recovery Walk
