In Celebration of the International Women’s Day 2017, we invite you to the first Kenyan screening of the Movie, ‘Queen of Katwe’ taking place on Saturday 11th March 2017 at Technical University of Kenya (TuK), from 13:00 Hrs. to 16:00 Hrs.
‘Queen of Katwe’ Stars Lupita Nyong'o, David Oyelowo, and Madina Nalwanga and is based on the vibrant true story of a young girl from the streets of rural Uganda whose world rapidly changes when she is introduced to the game of chess, and, as a result of the support she receives from her family and community, is instilled with the confidence and determination she needs to pursue her dream of becoming an international chess champion. For International Women's Day 2017, we're asked to #BeBoldForChange; A call on the masses and yourself to help forge a better working world - a more gender inclusive world.
The entry charges are 200/- which will go into supporting the work of SEVIR Network (Sexual Violence Response Network-Kenya) in assistance for women and girls in Kenya facing threats of or coping with the aftermath of sexual violence and abuse.
