Zambia Airports Corporation Limited (ZACL) intends to develop the Copperbelt International Airport in the Dag Hammarskjold Memorial Site area of Ndola district. The proposed airport will have a runway of 3,500m and will cover an estimated area of 2,000 ha.
The Airport will involve construction of a two storey level complex hosting various facilities which will include; passenger terminals, lounges, refreshment and shopping facilities, parking lots and baggage handling facilities and freight warehousing/cargo management. Other facilities will be water and oil supply facilities, meteorological assessments and monitoring offices, firefighting station, drainage and flood protection services.
