Event Details
The Graduate School of Media and Communications will host the premiere screening of our documentary Plastics are Forever, which examines how flip flops, plastic bottles and nets clutter Kenya’s white sand beaches, and features local efforts to recycle plastic waste and free ensnared marine life. The documentary will open the second season of our documentary series, Giving Nature a Voice, which will be broadcast on NTV beginning in December 2017.
The event will also feature a lively panel discussion that will aim to address:
- Current state of plastic pollution in Kenya
- Effect of the plastic bag ban on the environment
- Future plans to recycle other plastic waste by government, industry and civil society.
RSVP Marietta Musyoka on marietta.musyoka@aku.edu by Monday 27th November, 2017 to reserve a seat.
