The PLAY HANDBALL SuperCup is the 1st climate-neutral handball tournament series in South Africa. We use handball in combination with environmental education to create a sustainable future. The aim of the PLAY HANDBALL Supercup is to reach out with sport to the youth, bring kids from various schools and cultural backgrounds together and to educate them at the same time about the environment.
250 kids from 10 different schools of the age of 10 to 16 will be expected on the day. The teams compete in a handball tournament in three categories: Mix U14, Girls U16 and Boys U16.
To participate school teams are challenged to develop ideas of how they can contribute to a clean and healthy environment. The most creative idea will be awarded with a “Green Award” on the day of the tournament. Beside the Award there will be an environmental education trail at the tournament too.
The event is proudly supported by the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation.
