A discussion about gender stereotypes, roles and expectations in Germany and Ethiopia.
As part of our monthly programme around the topic of gender equality, we will engage in a conversation about social expectations and (un-)equal opportunities for men and women in different cultural contexts.
Starting from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s TED Talk “We should all be feminists”, we will ask ourselves questions such as:
What are women’s opportunities and which kind of challenges do they face due to society’s expectations? Is feminism a Western or a universal concept? How can or should traditional role models change?
Come to the Goethe-Institut on Thursday, 17 August, at 6.30 pm and join us for the discussion.
