Save the date: 19 September (7pm) O menino e o mundo (Boy and the world) A truly original animation, both in terms of form and content. Using several interesting techniques, such as collages, watercolor paintings and drawings with crayons, the film tells its story not through words (it has no dialogues) but music, colours and the eyes of a young boy with a sense of wonder and innocence. This visually and emotionally rich movie depicts a countryside boy who goes on a journey to find his father who had gone to the city to earn money to the family. On his way, the kid discovers a society marked by poverty, exploitation, consumerism and lack of opportunities. More than just an animation for adults (given its strong themes), the film is a truly special experience. Come and watch the movie free of charge, at the Goethe Institut (corner Ali Hassan Mwinyi Rd with Aly Khan Rd), on Tuesday, 19 September at 7pm. The film will be screened in Portuguese with English subtitles. Parking available.
