Welcome to Mt Kenya Easter Hike with Bedera Places. Mt Kenya also branded as “The Mountain of God” is the highest mountain in Kenya and the second highest in Africa towering to 5199 m above sea level, though located within the Equator, it has snow & some iconic glaciers. Main attractions: The exotic equatorial high-altitude vegetation, deep scenic valleys, Sunrise at Point Lenana which is the climax of the hike, rivers and tarns…Wild animals that you might come across include; Zebras, monkeys, Buffalos, Elephants, rock hyrax and different species of birds including the soaring eagles etc… all this and more makes Mt Kenya hike the “most” beautiful expeditions in the African mountains. Route: Sirimo-Sirimon …considered by many to present a moderate gradient among the 3 main routes to Mt. Kenya. Itinerary. Day 1: 03rd Assemble at The Jeevanjee Gardens 6:30am for briefing and some exercise then Leave Nairobi at 7:00am, a stop over in Nanyuki for shopping then proceed to Sirimon Gate for light lunch after which we hike to Old Moses camp (3300m), for dinner & overnight. 3 to 4 hrs (9kms). Day2: 04th After breakfast 7:30am, hike to Shipton’s camp (4200m ) for dinner & overnight. 6 to 8 hrs (17 kms). Great day of scenic views of valleys and the expansive panorama. Light lunch on the way. Day 3: 05th Day of the climax & The Ultimate reward. Wake up @ 2:30am for Point Lenana (4985m) enjoy the breath taking Sun rise @ 6:00am plus observe Kenya and the region from The Conqueror’s point. Have a chance to see Mt. Kilimajaro about 343km South. At 7:am start the descend back to the Camp for breakfast then proceed to Old Moses Camp for Dinner & overnight. Packed lunch on the way down. Day 4: 06th After breakfast and a short photo session @8:30am descend to Sirimon Gate to catch the vehicle back to Nairobi. Lunch in Nanyuki plus a moment at the Equator for The Equator magic and shopping. Proceed to Nairobi where our expedition ends. Fitness Preparation It’s paramount to have our fitness in order and improve on it to make sure we are up for the challenge. 5 Saturdays 7:00am – 8:30am Exercises sessions scheduled starting on 28th Feb, 7th, 14th, 21st & A Ngong Hike on 28th March. Cancelations made 14 days prior to your event it attracts a 10% commitment fee so you get 90% refund of the total cost, cancelations made 7 days prior it attracts a 15% commitment fee so you get 85% refund of the total cost.
