MINISTER, KARIBU!
MINISTER, KARIBU! by John Sibi-Okumu, is a rollicking, satirical comedy based on mistaken identity. Chief, a gangster by trade, is a dead-ringer, in looks, for a very prominent government official. He and his merry men use this physical similarity to take advantage of the Big Man syndrome which pervades Kenya. Their latest opportunity is a party conference to be held at Walevis’ Authentic African Hotel or WAAH, run by the redoubtable Mama Toto, where various delegates have much to gain from ingratiating themselves with ‘Bwana Mkubwa,’ real or imagined. Meanwhile, the eyes of the outside world are also fixed on Kenya at this politically fraught time. Come and see us as we see ourselves and as others see us! And be prepared to have a good laugh, into the bargain.
