.This meet-up happens every quarter and invites at least 50 young energetic and innovative minds in Kumasi. This event series seeks further to commune the network built out of Barcamp Kumasi.
The primary goal is to showcase the work of local and international entrepreneurs (social), the impact of their organisation and the opportunities for the youth. The event will also bring together innovators and doers in Kumasi, to interact and share ideas that have the propensity for social and economic impact.
The 9th Edition of Kumasi Konnect will feature Ama Duncan. Her topic will be "Responsibility, not Entitlement".
Ama Duncan is Founder of The Fabulous Woman Network – an organization which conducts activities to bring women together to share experiences, learn, network and collaborate. She has led her team to organize events for over 500 women. She has also interviewed and shared stories of over 150 women on social media which has reached over 3,000,000 people in total. She is very passionate about celebrating, developing and inspiring women.
Ama is also a Corporate Trainer with over 12 years’ experience in employee learning and development. In March 2015, she founded Corporate Training Solutions which has trained over 800 people on customer service skills in her quest to improve service culture in Ghana. She frequently mentors women, speaks on radio, TV shows and conferences for women and youth including TEDx Adum, has been published in reputable newspapers and blogs and is currently an Access Bank W Ambassador.
Ama until recently was the Learning and Development Manager of Golden Tulip Kumasi City hotel, Ghana where her implementation of their company culture was acclaimed and recommended to other hotels. Before this, she had stints with some companies including Standard Chartered Bank (Ghana), Baylis and Harding PLC (UK), Worcestershire County Council (UK) and Camp Joy (US). She graduated from Paris Graduate School of Management, University of Ghana and Archbishop Porter Girls’ School, Ghana. Ama is married with two children and loves spending time with her family.
