KENYA & TANZANIA 12 NIGHT 13 DAY ROAD SAFARI PACKAGE DAY 1. (3rd July) NAIROBI TO TSAVO WEST This morning we will pick you up in Nairobi and depart early to make our way to Tsavo West National Park. This lesser visited park has some stunning lava rock formations and scenery. We will overnight for the next two nights at Tsavo West as we explore this large park. Accommodation Rhino Valley Lodge. L,D DAY 2. (4th July) TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK Today we have the whole day to explore, this park is famous for the water pool and falls of Mzima springs which feed the drinking water source for the whole of Mombasa as well as the Shetani Lava Flow. B,L,D DAY 3. (5th July) TSAVO WEST TO AMBOSELI After breakfast today we will depart Tsavo West and make our way through the lava rock landscapes to Amboseli. Here we hope to see beautiful views of Mount Kilimanjaro during our stay. This afternoon there will be some free time to relax or partake in a nature walk. Overnight will be at Kibo Safari Camp. B,L,D DAY 4. (6th July) AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK Today we have a full day to explore Amboseli National Park. This small park in the foot hills of Kilimanjaro is famous for it's huge herds of Elephants and wide range of bird species. There is also a lookout hill you will have the opportunity to climb and look out over the marsh lands which are home to Hippos and Waterbucks. We will return to the camp for dinner and overnight. B,L,D DAY 5. (7th July) AMBOSELI TO NGORONGORO FARM HOUSE VIA TARAKEA BORDER WITH TANZANIA Today we will depart the camp early and drop you to the border of Tanzania at the Tarakea border where you will be met by the team of Viva Africa to continue your safari. They will pick up from the Tarakea border and transfer you to Ngorongoro Farm House Valley, facing the Oldeani Volcano, only 5 kilometers from the Ngorongoro Lolduare gate. B,L,D DAY 6. (8th July) NGORONGORO CRATER TO SERENGETI This morning you will depart early again, this time for the Ngorongoro Crater as it is an excellent time to spot game. The lofty walls of the crater were formed millions of years ago when a nearby volcano erupted. There is a high possibility of encountering every member of the ‘Big Five’ as well as zebras, hippos and hyenas. The crater is a bird watchers heaven and you can expect to see storks, geese and graceful famingos as we drive along the banks of the Soda Lake. Our game drive will conclude shortly after a picnic lunch in the crater, then we will proceed to the Central Serengeti. Overnight at Kati Kati Tented Camp. B,L,D DAY 7. (9th July) SERENGETI TO IKOMA After breakfast we continue our journey to the world famous Serengeti National Park and one of Africa’s 7 natural wonders. The Serengeti is renowned for having an extensive wildlife population that includes lions, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeest, crocodiles, giraffe, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos and antelopes. The amount and type of wildlife found at the park varies from season to season but our guides will ensure that you see as much as possible. We will spend the night at Mapito Tented Camp inside Ikoma Game Reserve B,L,D DAY 8. (10th July) SERENGETI TO MAASAI MARA VIA ISIBANIA BORDER WITH KENYA We set off for another exciting day of wildlife encounters in the Serengeti, while we venture further North to the Isibania border post. You’ll reach the Kenyan border by lunchtime where you will be met by your Mara Explorers crew. From here we will proceed east into the Maasai Mara and arrive at Mara Explorers Camp in the evening. B,L,D DAY 9. (11th July) MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE After breakfast we will head into the Maasai Mara for a full day gamedrive into the Maasai Mara National Reserve taking a packed lunch which we will enjoy later under a shady tree. The Maasai Mara is a Big 5 National Game Reserve meaning it is home to all of the Big 5, Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Leopard and Buffalo. Although some of them are very hard to spot so what you see all depends on your luck on the day! We will return to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight. B,L,D DAY 10. (12th July) MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE Departing early today you will have a final day to explore the Maasai Mara and see what new things you can spot. Depending on what we see today we will return to camp around 3pm so there is some time to relax before a BBQ dinner this evening. B,L,D DAY 11. (13th July) MAASAI MARA TO NAKURU After breakfast today there will be an opportunity to take a short nature walk with our local guides and stretch your legs before we will depart and make our way to Nakuru, stopping for lunch on route. On arrival we will overnight at Kembu Cottages. B,L,D DAY 12. (14th July) NAKURU NATIONAL PARK Today we have a full day to head into Nakuru National Park and gamedrive. This small park is situated around a soda lake and is home to a huge variety of different bird life as well as being a conservation area for both Black and White Rhino and the Rothschild Giraffe. There is also a healthy populaton of Lions and Leopards here so hopefully you will have a god day here! B,L,D DAY 13. (15th July) NAKURU TO NAIVASHA TO NAIROBI Today we will depart Nakuru and on route to Nairobi we will stop off in Naivasha for a boat trip on the lake where we hope to see some Hippos and various bird life including the African Fish Eagle in action. We will have lunch in Naivasha before we complete our journey and finish our safari in Nairobi. B,L Price includes all transport and gamedrives in a 4x4 Landcruiser converted for safaris, services of an English speaking driver/guide, full board single/double ensuite accommodation with meals as shown where B=Breakfast, L=Lunch & D=Dinner, all required park entry fees and activities as per itinerary, 1ltr of bottled water per person per day. Excludes other drinks, snacks, tips, visas, travel insurance, personal spending/shopping, anything else not mentioned above.
