The Japan Kenya Students Conference (JKSC) is a program that brings the ideal of multicultural interactions to life. Every year, the program provides both Kenyan and Japanese students the opportunity to experience life in other cultures and gain new understanding of the two countries multidiverse cultures through travel between the two countries alternately. Unlike other youth/student exchange programs, JKSC does not involve academic study or employment. Instead, participants are encouraged to use the travel opportunities to represent their home countries and share their own culture while learning about and embracing a new one; forging the way to becoming custodians of intrinsic cultures for future generations.
The program for this year will include visits to universities and subsequent creation of JKSC chapters, visit to JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), volunteer activity with Ukeoinin – a Japanese volunteer group in Kenya, sightseeing followed by the final summing up of the conference at the Japanese Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya.
