DISCUSSION ON THE TOPIC: IN SEARCH OF THE BEST IXP MODEL FOR GHANA
The Internet Society provides leadership in addressing issues that confront the future of the Internet, and is the organizational home for the groups responsible for Internet infrastructure standards, including the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and the Internet Architecture Board (IAB). The Internet model of decentralized architecture and distributed responsibility for development, operation, and management has been the catalyst for boundless innovation and creativity. That model also creates important leadership opportunities, especially in those spaces where technology, policy, and business intersect.
A key challenge for the Internet in Ghana that will impact on cost of access is Internet Exchange Point (IXP) which requires a multi-stakeholder approach to arrive at a very good model for Ghana.
As part of its mission and vision, the Internet Society is dedicated to supporting Ghana’s drive to improve Internet Access and make it more affordable. In this regard, the Internet Society Ghana Chapter will like to invite you to our quarterly informal social evening event on the Topic “IN SEARCH OF THE BEST IXP MODEL FOR GHANA” to be held at the Kofi Annan Center of Excellence in IT on 24 April 2014 at 6:30pm
