By IoT Network Hub
The Internet has already brought hundreds of millions of people together and created unlimited connections that were never possible before -- but this is just the beginning.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is here and it is going to transform our lives even better than before. The implications of IoT are huge: The entire planet will become a unified, brain-like system. Though it sounds like a far-off, futuristic concept, but IoT is imminent.
As Gartner predicts a connection of more than 25 billion devices churning out data communicating over the internet, massively expanding internet of things infrastructure, IoT is changing our lives and how we live and work already. There are more than 12 billion devices that can currently connect to the Internet, and researchers at IDC estimate that by 2020 there will be 26 times more connected things than people.
The Internet of Things (IoT) workshop is meant to educate participants on the future of technology and the future of jobs, critical thinking and problem solving, we will also cover some basics of IoT concepts and applications, have a practical session on building an Internet of things project from scratch (Smart Thermostat) and a demonstration of a smart home system built by IoT Network Hub.

About IoT Network Hub
IoT Network Hub is the largest and fastest growing Internet of things community in Ghana at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (AITI-KACE). The community was founded in 2016 by two alumni of AITI-KACE.
IoT Network Hub is a social enterprise with over 1500 members and growing, it’s a community of tech enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, businessmen and women, investors, marketers etc. teaming up to solve problems and challenges in Ghana and Africa using technology by sharing ideas, combining skills, assisting members with their projects, training upcoming tech enthusiasts and many more.
For the past two years since we started IoT Network Hub we focused on capacity building and creating awareness, this has been very successful and encouraging looking at the numbers so far, our reach and exposures, both locally and international.
In the next years ahead we will be focusing more on problems solving, projects demonstration and presentation, coming up with innovative solutions/ ideas and building them into start-ups.
