As we know, Ghana is the second-largest producer of gold in Africa and becoming an important oil producer in Africa. The mining and oil industry has been a key contributor to the rapid economic growth in Ghana. This means that today Ghana is actually a lower-middle income country. However, this growth has come with enormous human and environmental consequences in the areas where particularly the mining takes place. The project “Community E-powerment for Fair and Accountable Mining”, has been designed to enhance capacity of local communities to use ICTs to engage with other stakeholders in the mining sector.
