It's that time of the year, when we come together to render a selfless service and give back to our
communities. On October 18th and 19th 2016, Hope for African Girls Initiative and Nigeria Writers Award will be giving out 1000 school foot wares to schools in the Northern part of Nigeria. Our target is to give as much as 800 -1000 children.
WHY SCHOOL SANDAL?
Many children in the Northern part of Nigeria grew up barefoot. whether at play, doing chores or going to school, this children are at risk : Soil transmitted diseases are prevalent in developing countries, which can penetrate their skin through barefeet. Wearing shoes can help prevent these diseases, and long time space physical and cognitive harm they cause.
Wearing shoes also prevents feet from getting cuts and sores. Not only are these injuries painful, they also are dangerous when wounds become infected. Many times children cant attend school barefooted because their parent cant afford the cost, thereby many drop out of school out of shame.
Our Goal is to take their shame away and kit them through
This project is commited to adding value and impacting as many children as possible across the schools in the North. Nigeria.
We hereby call to the general public to assist us. We are open to Donation of foot wares and funding.
Individuals or groups who wish to participate as voluntary team members during this upcoming
project are highly welcome.
