SATURDAY 20th August 2016 at 10h00 We are meeting at The Fashion Shack Restaurant 130 Pritchard Street Johannesburg A walk through Little Ethiopia & the Fashion District : We begin in the Fashion District, that started out decades ago as the heart of the Jewish Schmattes industry. Today it is the home of the Fashion School where all of South Africa` s young talent begin their journey into the competitive world of Fashion. A great opportunity to shop and get inspired. We will also explore the Nigerian Traditional cloth shops nearby that contribute to the African Renaissance. Once we are in Little Ethiopia , our tour will include a coffee ceremony and we will discuss topics including : * Amharic language and culture... * Orthodox Christianity .. and Ethiopian Jewish roots * The impact of Ethiopian people in Johannesburg today * Ethiopian food & spices ~ we will also share a typical traditional meal after the talk and there is an opportunity to shop.
