Ikeson college in collaboration with Ghana association of private school teachers and Griffin education for all initiative present a one-day workshop for all preschool teachers.
The aim of the workshop is to equip teachers on the know-how of teaching the new english language curriculum for primary school. Mostly English has become the second language for our children as their parents may have a language they speak at home, this makes it difficult to switch from one language to another. Teachers therefore have a big task to segment the English language in a way to make it easier for their children to grasp. English is also foreign language and has its own technicalities and way of teaching of which most teachers are unaware of. The use of nouns, adverbs, verbs, tenses and construction of words are all attributes of speaking and writing good english.
This workshop is designed to equip the teacher with the english curriculum and how to deliver in class. Practical exercises are done during the training. This will give our teachers the confidence and energy to deliver the subject very well after the training.
This workshop will focus on The four main topics in the Ges new curriculum for English Language which are:
- Oral language
- Writing skills
- Reading and spellings
- Grammar
