Whiles a student at Central University, he doubled as a security man for the school. Prior to that he had been a security man for a company for about 2 years and had been dismissed on at least 2 occasions from his other jobs.

Today, Dr. Tetteh Nettey is a Director for the Sovereign Bank. His establishment, Meridian Marshalls Holdings, is the first private educational institution to be listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange under the Ghana Alternative Market.
