Ghana has a serious flood problem. Over about 50 years, 4 million people have been affected by floods, resulting in economic damage exceeding USD$780 million. One of the major issues causing these floods is poor sanitation. This is a result of people not properly disposing of their garbage, rather, dumping wastes into waterways leading to blockage during heavy raining periods.
The government has been working to improve the process, yet face some challenges due to the lack of capacity to educate and empower community members to clean their environment.
We are inviting all young adults who are interested in visiting Ghana to join us for a one day Clean up with Ghanaian's in Ghana and the rest of the days in Ghana, exploring and learning about Ghana.
Registering for this event allow us to track how many people will be joining us so that we can budget for the trip as well as raise funds for this trip. We hope you will be interested in participating in this wonderful opportunity of giving back to Ghana.
Thank you,
