CHILDREN’S CONCERT FRIDAY FEBRUARY 13TH- GOETHE-INSTITUT Time: 7:15pm The Goethe Bar & Grill “Open Mic Night” will take on a different approach as we feature children in concert. German Conductor Markus Baisch has been coming to Ghana for 6 years working with and conducting the National Symphony Orchestra in special concerts. While he has been in Ghana he started projects with schools in bringing music to their curriculum. The Anani Memorial School in Nima, the Cradle of Grace Montessori School and the Nungua Secondary School have been recipients of his work and will do a concert at the Goethe-Institut on Friday February 13th, 2015. This concert will be FREE admission to all. The 80 students will perform in orchestras and choirs and provide both classical and popular music. This will be a most entertaining evening and all are invited to come and enjoy and support these children. The concert will commence approximately 7:30pm and last for 2 1/2 hours. The pieces of the orchestra: CanCan – J.Offenbach Soundtrack of Pirates of the Carrabean What Child Is This Light Over Strings – Dieter Müller-Herzing The pieces of the choir: German kanon Amazing grace Siya hamba (a southafrican piece) Waving Flag Cup Song (modern) A couple of short songs A small ensembles accompanied by some instruments: Soundtrack of “Les Choristes” The Goethe Bar & Grill will be offering a variety of grilled food items and beverages including German Beers and Club Draught Beer.
