Platform Africa is organizing the first trauma healing workshop for children through an art therapy program. The programs aims to explore the potential of art in helping to encourage socialization among children of different backgrounds, stimulate memories & decrease stress and anxiety. Since fighting escalated in South Sudan forcing over 1.5 million refugees, more than half of them are children. there have been major gaps in child protection intervention, access to basic education, including early childhood development resulting from the large numbers of children and the limited number of actors involved in the child protection response so we are taking a step to create a different environment for children to learn, express themselves and break free from traumatic experiences.
