By Mombasa-Bound Buses

Sat, Jan 28. 4AM - 10AM

Event Details

In marking the Cervical Cancer prevention month, Lady Hope Wellness Institute, in partnership with the Mombasa-bound Buses and Matwana Matatu Culture , the youth of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church - Kitisuru and supported by National Bank of Kenya, Westlands Branch, will hold a 10 km Charity Walk on Saturday 28th January, 2017. The aim of the Walk is to raise awareness in the community on prevention and control of cervical cancer through early and routine cancer screening to curb the alarming rise of cervical cancer deaths in our Country. We also wish to touch the lives of the vulnerable in the community by uplifting the poor cancer affected persons in our programme to access continuous specialized treatment and thereafter empower them economically to start life afresh after their treatment. Various partners feel the pain of the cancer patients and wishes to take the Walk with/ for them to alleviate their suffering in their own small ways. By identifying within this cause, the MOMBASA-BOUND BUSES (MBB) Group remain true to their motto: "Beyond Bus Travel". They want to ensure the long and tedious cancer treatment journey for the patients is bearable. They understand the emotional and physical pain long distant cervical cancer patients undergo as they travel by public means even at late stages of the disease mostly characterized by heavy bleeding. By taking little steps towards cancer fight, they will be ensuring that no cervical cancer patient chooses to await their fate in the comfort of their homes rather than take the long distant Buses to Kenyatta National Hospital for specialized treatment. We are therefore requesting you to join us in the walk through purchasing the event t-shirts at only Ksh. 1,000 of which proceeds go towards the good cause. Contact Delvan on 0705808848 . FREE transport will be provided from Nairobi town to the Venue, courtesy of Mash Poa, Dreamline, Modern Coast and Simba Coach. Departure time is strictly 7am from Accra rd. Free transport will also be provided after the Charity Walk. Donations can also be made directly to LADY HOPE WELLNESS INSTITUTE through cheque, direct bank deposits to National Bank of Kenya Westlands branch, Account no. 01281041141300 (Pay bill no. 625625), M-pesa on 0728919199 or through the Parish Priest Fr.
