CASHBUILD BRINGS FESTIVE CHEER TO EIGHT SCHOOLS IN THE NDOLA AREA. Eight schools in the Ndola area are the winners of the Cashbuild Art-at-Heart competition. They will each receive a Cashbuild building material voucher to the value of ZMW12 000 at the Cashbuild Ndola Store Opening Ceremony on the 7th December 2017. Fencing, flooring and general maintenance are some of the refurbishments that the school principals plan to carry out. Nkwazi Primary School, Twapia Primary School and Chipulukusu Primary Schools are three of the eight schools that will each receive a Cashbuild building material voucher to the value of ZMW12 000. Nkwazi Primary School’s Principal, J.M Malama says: “We are very happy because now we can finish a new classroom that we started building awhile back. The finishing touches will include cement for the flooring as well as windows and window frames.” Ruth Mwanza, Principal of Twapia Primary School could not have been more excited when she heard the news and said: “The fencing around our school collapsed due to bad weather and now we can finally fix it with a better and stronger structure. We are also hoping to build a small classroom block.” The Principal of Chipulukusu Primary School, Laston Lungu added: “We are going to go straight into replacing and fixing the floors in the classroom as the tiles that are in there now are old and broken, this is going to be very exciting for the learners of our school.” At the official Cashbuild Ndola Store Opening Ceremony on the 7th December 2017, when the building material vouchers totaling ZMW96 000 will be presented to all eight schools, the children will entertain everyone with singing, cultural dances and theatrical performances. The Cashbuild Art-at-Heart competition entails learners from each school submitting their best artwork to Cashbuild. This artwork is displayed at the ceremony, and then remains on display in the Cashbuild store for the next six years. Artwork will be judged and three winners from each school will be named. Winners will receive Cashbuild Art-at-Heart gold, silver and bronze certificates for first, second and third place respectively. The Manager’s Choice award will also be presented to the overall winner of the artwork competition. This award will be announced on the day and the winner will receive a stationery pack and a glass trophy. The winner will also officially open the store. The schools that will benefit from the Cashbuild Art-at-Heart donations are: • KABUSHI PRIMARY SCHOOL • MALASHA PRIMARY SCHOOL • SIMON MWANSA KAPWEPWE PRIMARY SCHOOL • NKWAZI PRIMARY SCHOOL • TWAPIA PRIMARY SCHOOL • CHIPULUKUSU PRIMARY SCHOOL • CHALUBEMBA PRIMARY SCHOOL • KATONDO PRIMARY SCHOOL Since the Art-at-Heart campaign was launched 16 years ago, Cashbuild has helped more than 2 700 schools in Southern Africa with over R33-million worth of building materials. Cashbuild is BEE compliant and every time a store is opened, relocated or refurbished, Cashbuild not only makes donations to local schools, but also creates jobs for community members. The Art-at-Heart competition is a southern African Cashbuild initiative whereby donations are made to some of the region’s most needy schools.
