This year we want to give you an opportunity to sample another hidden treasure in Kenya’s West Coast. Pack your bag and let’s go camping in Rusinga. This will be a 4 day road trip where you will sample 3 islands; namely Rusinga, Mfangano and Takawiri. Brief Itinerary (24th -27th December) ----------------------------------------------------- DAY 1 Nairobi- Narok- Homabay- Mbita by road. Camp in Safari Village Resort DAY 2 Rusinga Island picnic and sight seeing Sunset cross over via ferry Camping at Mfangano Island DAY 3 Exploring Mfangano and Takawiri Islands Camping at Mfangano Island DAY 4 Mfangano- Mbita-Homabay-Nairobi Price -------- Citizens: Ksh 15,600 Residents and Non Residents: Ksh 20,000 Inclusion -------------- Transport from Nairobi to Rusinga and back in comfortable tour vans. All Camping charges Ferry charges. Meals on full board during the stay Bottled water for each day of the Safari The beach and the water is all yours to enjoy Exclusion -------------- Boat ride (which will be cost shared) @ Ksh 1500 per boat Water sports Drinks Tips and gratuities Rooms go for Ksh 1000 per person if you cannot camp. What to pack for the trip: ----------------------------------- 1. Valid Identification documentation 4. Clothing, swimming costumes and something warm for chilly evenings/mornings 5. A hat and sunglasses to look cool and beat the sun 6. Personal effects, insect repellent, anti-malaria tabs 7. Pocket money for shopping , drinks, snacks and for the extra activities 8. Carry your snacks and additional mineral water – we have cooler boxes for storage 9. In case of any Medical condition let us know and please stock up for the trip 10. Head lamp/flash light, Camera with spare batteries or film, USB, iPod 11. A small day bag (for day trips – moving about) 12. Suitcases are heavy to drag from tents every day. Rucksacks are highly recommended.
