The road has been murammed to all weather road. Two wheeled salons cars can access the park. We thought bikers have been left behind. The mountain is not a preserve for driving group. Venue: Mt Kenya – Chogoria Route Date: 7th Aug -9th Aug 2015 Requirement: Own Bike Program: Day 1. Assemble at Lenana hotel in Chogoria town at 11:00am. After replenishing our mountain supplies from the local market, we shall have our hot lunch from the cafeteria. We will load the supplies with our mountain cook to our transfer vehicle to Mt. Kenya Bandas Lodge. In a convoy, we start the ascend through Mutindwa market, forest gate to the park gate before checking in at the Bandas lodge 2950m a.s.l. where a hot shower awaits you. Dinner will be served while enjoying log fire within the comfort of your cottage. Occasionally you peep out of your verandah for wild animals which pay you a visit. Day 2. After breakfast, ride for 7km to road head 3300m a.s.l, where we leave our bikes to hike to lake Ellis. You need your camera to help keep the spectacular panoramic sceneries of Mugi, Ithanguni and the Giant Billiards Table, and not forgetting the main peaks. You will gain an elevation upto 600m. We get time to have snacks/ packed lunch and group photos, before we descend to get our bikes. We ride back to cottages at bandas lodge for a deserving hot shower. A hot meal will lead a soothing night sleep. Day 3. Wake up for late continental breakfast at 9:00am. Descend at leisure to Chogoria town to mark the end of our trip.
