The 2019 Back2Africa Festival happens February 25 – March 8, 2019 and consists of a service project and performance stop in Kumasi, Cape Coast, and Accra featuring…The CrossRhodes, Black Alley Band and Farafina Kan.
The Back2Africa Festival is a partnership between The Adinkra Group and The Ghana Tourism Authority that celebrates Black History Month the last week of February through Ghanaian Independence Day in the first week of March with a focus on the arts, education and service. We connect African American and Ghanaian cultural art forms through live performances and educational service projects providing school supplies and resources for Ghanaian school children in the Akuapem Region.
A cornerstone of this journey and experience is the opportunity for all attendees to take their DNA test using the world’s largest database of African DNA lineages to determine their country and ethnic group of origin through our partnership with AfricanAncestry.com and participate in a group reveal during the journey.
