The Black August Pan African Film Festival will held in Ghana at Palace Africa. The Festival will be held in the spirit of Black August. The Festival will be held August 18,19th and 20th.
August 18th The opening Dinner starts @6:00 P.M The Key Note Speaker will be Dhoruba Bin Wahad he is a writer and Activist and Original Member of the Black Panthers and co- founder of the Black Liberation Army. Dhoruba will open the ceremony by giving a preview and understanding of the meaning of Black August and why we celebrate it. We will be celebrating the Birthday of the Honorable Marcus Garvey which is August 17th. Pan Africanist all around the world pay homage on this day.
Cost 300 Cedis for entry 500 cedis for dinner with movie.
August 19th and 20th we will continue the festival with films from a variety of independent film makers who are telling our stories. Dr. John Henry Clarke has told us "that we must tell our own stories".
The Showtimes will be: 11-1p.m 2-4p.m 5-7 p.m 9-11p.m.
