Since 2012, The entertaining movie;“Treacherous Heart”has been nominated at different awards in 24 categories. The film won best Drama in Diaspora at the African Oscars in North Carolina USA 2012; won Best Actress in a leading role African Entertainment Award 2012 Toronto; won Best Actress in a leading role Black Gold Awards 2013 Calgary; Nominated in People’s Choice categories Favourite Actress, Favourite Actor, Favourite Director African Oscars Washington DC USA 2013; and has been screened at the Black Women Film Festival, Atlanta Georgia June 2013. In addition, Kathryn, the writer and director has been nominated and won the Global Woman of Vision Award Calgary, in June 2012.

Ngozi is the only child of a wealthy Nigerian politician; she is twenty-six years old, and lives in Calgary. She was sent to Canada as a child to live with her mother's childhood best friend in order to provide her with a good quality education and better opportunities in life. 

Having completed her education and working, her parents have decided that it is time for her to get married and as such have arranged a promising marriage for her with their friend's son Nnamdi who is also a young Canadian professional of Nigerian Ancestry. This decision does not go down well with Ngozi who intends to find love for herself, even if it means committing a cultural abomination by going against her parents' decision. 

Her situation is further complicated when she meets and falls in love at first sight with Danladi a man who is not only engaged to another woman but is from the wrong tribe and religion. Will they follow their hearts or go along with a plan already in place?
