About the artist

Albert Nii Nortey Dowuona (b. 1987) lives and works in Accra, Ghana. He earned his BFA in Painting and Sculpture from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi in 2010. Nii Nortey explores materials that have with them 'voices' or 'narratives'. These materials come as everyday and already-made items. Some of the items he has explored within his art practice include the potter’s wheel, fabric, newspapers, audio-visuals, and popular musical tunes.
